YOUR GUIDE TO EASTER AT 17 & CENTRAL
We’re pretty sure that like us, you’ve probably been nibbling on seasonal treats since they hit the shops just after Christmas, but now it’s April, we can officially start looking forward to Easter. Not only have we got some cracking gift ideas for you, but there’s lots going on at the Centre over the next few weeks and we’ve got some eggs-cellent suggestions of things to do over the school holidays.
Traditional treats
We can’t talk about Easter without mentioning eggs. If you’re the kind of family that likes to keep things traditional, then head straight to Asda or Lidl where Easter eggs have been flying off the shelves for weeks. There’s a huge selection of big-name (and much-loved) brands in both stores but do check out Lidl’s Deluxe and Favorina eggs – the gold-wrapped Italian style egg is a real showstopper. There are lots of little treats too, which are perfect for holiday snacks on-the-go and Easter egg hunts, and don’t even get us started on the hot cross buns. If you’ve got family staying over the bank holiday weekend, get a selection of buns – they’re brilliant for breakfast!
Easter makeover
Bring Easter to your house with themed homeware from TK Maxx. They’ve got the most beautiful selection of decorative eggs and bunny-inspired ornaments, so whether you’re after a classy or a cute vibe, you’ll be able to find pieces that are just right for your home. Our favourites include the striped bunny ears canister, the multicoloured bunny print tea towels and the white dolomite bunny mug.
And can we just talk seasonal candles? Not only would they make a fab addition to your home, but they make great Easter gifts too. Check out the Charming Farmhouse Milk Chocolate Bunnies Scented Candle – it smells AMAZING!!
Cracking crafts
Looking for ways to keep little fingers occupied over the holidays? The Works has a brilliant range of seasonal craft supplies – which are just as much fun for adults too. Get them busy making an Easter bonnet or creating their own cards. They’ve got Easter puzzles, colouring and stickers and we particularly love the Easter Craft Platter, which contains vibrant foam shapes, sequins, pom poms and gems in themed colours and the Easter Giant Bag of Craft featuring vibrant pipe cleaners, sequins, googly eyes, card sheets and glitter glue bottles. Or if they fancy making their own decorations there are twig trees, paper chains, bunting and wooden hanging gonks.
Family dining made easy
Forget doing a lamb roast with all the trimmings, if you’re all about making things as easy as possible this year (and we definitely are) then head up to CRATE where you’ll find a smorgasbord of street food. There’s something for everyone (and yes, that includes halal and vegan diners, as well as fussy eaters – every family has one!), there’s a gorgeous bar and if the weather’s nice you can take it out to our Aperol Terrace.
If you’re bringing little ones then make sure you book in with The Kids’ Table. They’ll be spreading some joy and keeping the kids busy with Easter crafts from 16-19 April so you’ll be able to eat in peace.
